Recording Volume 1 Begins

A New Love For Music begins recording at the Two Cents Productions studio as Nicholas Ward brings doctrine and praise together.  The project began formally at the beginning of the year and continues to grow.  The title was decided, a web site created, and songs selected.  The upcoming album promises to be a catalyst of renewal.  Nicholas speaks  of the motivation behind the new project.

"Now more than ever, the Church needs to worship in spirit and truth.  There are a lot of great songs that capture the spirit of worship. Very  few seem to teach  the truths of God in song." He continues, "that powerful doctrine held in some of the old hymns is rarely found in today's modern worship.  I want to change that."

Having completed the home recording studio in his apartment, Nicholas has begun the recording phase of production.  A small bedroom has been converted into a studio. Guitars and various instruments line the wall. A solitary microphone beckons from across the room.

"Doing this project at home allows for a greater level of intimacy.  The songs become more dynamic.  It is like the service was distilled.  I think the music is more focused because of it."

The first song completed, Just You and Me, was produced by Ron Vreeland.  It was a time of learning and slow pace.  But Nicholas has changed his approach. 

"When we first started this album, we recorded one song at a time.  Right now, I am working on about half a dozen songs at once.  I hope there will be greater continuity throughout."

Nicholas plans to finish the bulk of the recording by the end of the year.  Background vocals and instrumental solos will be added after that.  Completion is tentatively scheduled for the early part 2003.
